The ferry departs from Labuan Bajo ferry terminal daily at 9 am and 4 pm. The ferry terminal is next to the port where you board a boat tour to Komodo island. Re Labuan Bajo to Sape 4 years ago Lots of boats to Komodo and Padar from Labuhanbajo. Day trip to Padar and Rinca is your best option. Lots of dragons on Rinca. Komodo is a longer journey. January is not the best month for boat trips as seas can be rough. Ferries cancelled in Indonesia today for example. Check any boat for safety equipment. Lots of places advertising trips in main street of LBJ. Ferry to Sape in Sumbawa is a car ferry about 75 mt long and 12m wide. You only have 3 days. I would suggest you just head to one place - Kencana Beach Hotel, 12km east of Sumbawa Besar town. You will arrive in Sape mid-afternoon. You might be able to get a direct bus to Sumbawa Besar but the trip is 6-7 hours so you will arrive around midnight having travelled all day from LBJ. Not ideal. Best bet is to take a bus from Sape to Bima, overnight in Bima and then an early bus to Sumbawa Besar. Kencana Beach Hotel is right on the beach, has a pool and lovely garden The food is good too. Staff are excellent IDR400K per night. You can stay in SB town too of course and it's a pleasant town but apart from the Sultan's palace and the ambience there is not a lot more to it.
